Options -- part contents for card part 1 ----- text ----- Please click the mouse to continue. -- part contents for card part 2 ----- text ----- Using the Report Cards module you will be able to: • prepare and print report cards and transcripts • create teacher’s classes for use in CSL Marks • create honor rolls and class ranks • calculate earned credits, cumulative and yearly GPA’s • produce complete student demographic and academic histories • produce form letters, class rosters, homeroom lists, and just about any other report you require using information from the Mac School database • and more! Let’s look at the process of generating a report card! First we need to identify which courses a student is taking. -- part contents for card part 3 ----- text ----- Students can also be sorted by a user-defined order. -- part contents for card part 4 ----- text ----- Teachers can enter marks or grading information (including letter grade, percentage, work habit, citizenship and a maximum of five comment ID#’s per student per class) in three different ways: 1. by uploading term information from CSL Marks to Report Cards 2. by scanning in term information using Scantron, Chatsworth, HEI or NCS scanners 3. by manual entry in Report Cards Period attendance can be automatically uploaded from the Attendance module. -- part contents for card part 5 ----- text ----- Teacher comments produced using the Comment Editor can be viewed. -- part contents for card part 6 ----- text ----- We have now completed entry of information from other Mac School modules. The pertinent information has been gathered and the school may now work with the data in preparation for printing report cards. -- part contents for card part 7 ----- text ----- Report Cards will store up to 8 sets of report card grades per year, and mid-term report cards can be printed at any time. The Report Manager module allows each school to design its own report card format to meet school and district requirements. School logos or special graphics can be included and pre-printed forms can be used. Let’s look at a sample report card. -- part contents for card part 8 ----- text ----- The Report Cards module can also produce honor rolls and class ranks. Schools can dictate the following parameters when generating scores for honor rolls and class ranks. -- part contents for card part 9 ----- text ----- This table allows you to define how you want certain items calculated. -- part contents for card part 10 ----- text ----- Honor rolls, failing lists, class rankings, and GPA’s can be produced at any time. This information can be stored for historical records and printed on report cards and transcripts. -- part contents for card part 11 ----- text ----- Mac School also keeps track of student’s historical records. Two different types of files are maintained: • A historical file for students who are still attending school; it is updated yearly. • A transcript file for students who have graduated. This file contains complete historical and student demographic information. The following information is kept in the yearly historical file. -- part contents for card part 12 ----- text ----- To view class information, simply double click on a selected class. -- part contents for card part 13 ----- text ----- To view information from another year - simply select that year. -- part contents for card part 14 ----- text ----- At the end of each school year, this student information is easily updated to the historical files by a Mac School routine called Year End. Reporting is very flexible! The Report Manager is used to design the format of the report and identify the type of information you require on it. It’s that easy! -- part contents for card part 15 ----- text ----- The Report Cards module offers you the power and flexibility to manipulate and report students’ academic records. Information can be printed to the screen, the printer, or a disk file in ASCII format.
